Drop Spindle WorkShop - 4 hours
10am - 2pm
This workshop takes place in Bismarck in Stoneybatter! There will be a short break around midday where a small snack of pastries and coffee will be provided by the cafe.
This one day drop spindle workshop consists of 4 different parts:
Introduction to wool - We will discuss the various types of wool used for spinning, the different ways of processing fibre as well as putting them to practice
Carding wool- Each participant will get to practice carding wool on a drum carder and learn different techniques
Drop Spindle - Each participant will get to practice using the drop spindle with wool provided so they gain a better understanding of how to use it
Preparing your take home project - Each participant will get to choose from dozens of colours and fibre options to create and drum card their very own art batt to take home with them
Practice - With the remaining time participants will get to start their take home project so we can trouble shoot any issues they may have
Once your have finished your take home project you will have your very own 50g skein of yarn made entirely by you from start to finish!
Everything you need will be provided on the day and participants will take home their own drop spindles as well as the art batt they have made on the day!
